December Hair Growth !!! Real Progress Starts 2026!!!
I have come to terms that my hair has a LOT of growing to do. After browsing hair growth pictures on Reddit, I now realize that many of them have most of their hair already grown out from their tips and it is just growing from there. Me? Majority of it is growing from the scalp or a little past it at least so my growth appears a lot slower due to everything growing at different starting points. My massive hair shedding in June is to thank for that. Despite this, I do see growth since June. It's been 6 months now and patience is a virtue.
Considering hair grows at .5 an inch per month and according to Google it will take at least a year and a half for any hair growing at the scalp to reach my shoulders. That's a lot of wait.
I went from:
To:
Yes, it got shorter but it is MUCH HEALTHIER. I greatly needed trims and loving care to it. However it has been 6 months and this is all I have to show for it. All I did was iron/collagen supplements, hydration and patience. No oiling ends or fancy scalp serums. Full progression will be at the bottom of the post!
Do I feel any improvement in my hair? Yes and no.
My hair does feel more voluminous. But when I took my monthly pictures, my hair actually looks like I lost hair again compared to November. Not sure why. I did noticed I am seeing more hair in my hairbrush. I feel like I am shedding more. Not sure why. I am still having to pull hair out of the shower. Clumps. I know it is completely normal to lose hair every day but I feel like I am still losing when I have already thin and brittle hair as it is. I am getting scared. Good news is that my hair texture is improving. It used to be dry and straw like despite showering every day. I now use more conditioner. I use Native shampoo (the green one i think) and Loreal el vive conditioner (the black bottle). My hair does seem more softer and less frizzy. It really depends how I air dry my hair and not brush or run my fingers through my hair when it is still damp or wet.
This admittedly does have me concerned if my hair is getting worse. Then again, this is my first time taking a pic from the back. And also my tank top from the November picture didn't have a clear view of my back of neck. My hair is more curled than normal giving the illusion of shorter hair. I did another small trim even though I said I wouldn't. It was to make my hair even since some hairs are still short while my back is slightly longer and thicker.
I'll take small small victories though. Even though my hair looks shorter I will say it feels more full of hair. Back in June when I was feeling my worst, my hair was extremely thin and ratty. It got matted which was crazy because I shower daily. Oh well. Today, texture is better. I will take this as a positive and means that this growth will continue to grow out but even this time.
Okay want to see how my hair looked when I stepped out of the shower? My outtake from earlier:
It turn, my hair looks shorter. Could be because it is growing into its curls or whatever to give it the appearance of shorter. Like it didn't grow. If I change my mind I'll add pictures. You can see it definitely has more body which is why it has that appearance. If I can get my hair flatter, I'll replace this pic but yeah. That is my current hair. At least it is improving in different ways.
Here are some other comparison pics. Remember that ugly snip i snipped last month? Let's see if THAT had any improvement.
Can't see much of anything difference from the front due to my natural hair curled weird but I don't feel as embarrassed going out anymore. I'm sure my boyfriend knows about my fuck ass trim but he loves me anyway. My hair will grow back out dammit.
And now let's look from the side. Not sure if it is a good comparison but I am sure I see growth.
And for the other side. Which is what I should have been doing this whole time.
I think a better gage to see if i can straighten out my hair. When I can afford one i think I will start showing those results instead. I might even have to buy a tape measure as well to see how much hair I actually do grow in a month. I hate being poor.
I also started taking this new collagen as of December 1st.
I was able to get this on Black Friday for about 41 bucks. I had enough Amazon gift cards to buy a 2nd cannister!! So these 2 will last me about 5 months. I can definitely save up enough to buy another until then. It's a good brand and looks like I need to consistently take it for about 3 to 4 months to see any meaningful difference. It is only a scoop a day so I am excited!!
Also, I think I will start my daily diaries at the start of the new year to not only make a hair growth comeback but to lose 20 pounds. I have gained 7 pounds since July which is not awful but I have altogether gained 17 pounds in 12 months. My lowest was 130 in January or February I didn't stay 130 long though. I was manly 135ish pounds so I know my weight gain isn't too terrible. I'm 5'2 so that makes me at 148 pounds and technically overweight yet again ðŸ˜
There is hope. 18 pounds to lose weight is very much doable. I just need to make changes to my lifestyle.
I might dabble and start early. We'll see.
I love looking how far I've come. When I get sad about my hair, I'll circle back to THIS! (Updated texts)
Once again, no July pic because it wasn't a good one. I took it in the bathroom and it wasn't good lighting. Didn't dawn on me to take more or in the same room. Oh well!
For contrast, this is what my hair looked like 1 year ago.
Sad how much it regressed but i will try to regrow and see how it looks in another year.
In conclusion...this post is finally concluded!
Peace!
And yes, I literally posted the same pic 3 times on here hahaha.
Still doing walking apps for money. Apps i want to try that I haven't yet: Geosmile, Moneywalk, Sweatcoin and Defit. Maybe: PenguPace and BitWalk.
